What it will surface

RestApp already holds your sales, recipes, costs and order history. We're building a Menu Profitability assistant on top of that data. It scores each item by contribution margin and demand, groups them into the classic menu-engineering quadrants (stars, plough-horses, puzzles, dogs), and drafts suggestions for which items to feature, reprice or rework. These features aren't live yet. They're in early access and still being built. The quality of any suggestion depends on accurate cost inputs from you, and every recommendation is a starting point for your decision, not an automatic change to your menu.

Clear suggestions, the decision is yours

Every suggestion is yours to approve, edit or dismiss. RestApp AI proposes, you decide.

This weekend, featuring "Menu X" could be around 20% more profitable than last weekend's mix, based on your current margins and recent demand. Want me to draft a featured set for you to review?

Heads up: your "Truffle Pasta" is a high-margin item but sells rarely. It might be worth highlighting on the menu. Shall I suggest a few placements?

I can't score the "Daily Soup" yet because its ingredient costs look out of date. Update them and I'll fold it into the analysis.

Your "House Burger" sells a lot but its margin is thin. I've drafted a small reprice option and a recipe-cost review for you to look over. Nothing changes until you approve.

Based on the last 8 weeks, three items look like "dogs" (low margin, low demand). I've prepared suggestions to rework or retire them, but the call is yours.

Why it matters

Margin meets demand

Items rank by both contribution margin and how often they sell, so high-volume low-margin items and quiet high-margin ones both surface, not just the top sellers.

Suggestions, not silent changes

The assistant drafts featured-item ideas, reprice candidates and menu-mix options. You review and approve each one. Nothing changes on your menu unless you apply it.

Honest about its inputs

Suggestions are only as good as the cost data behind them. We're building clear prompts to keep recipe and ingredient costs current, and the assistant flags items with missing or stale cost inputs.

Your data stays yours

Your sales and cost data belongs to your business. We respect GDPR/KVKK, and your data isn't used to train models shared with other restaurants.

How it works

1

Keep your costs current

Enter or import recipe and ingredient costs in RestApp. The more accurate these are, the more useful the suggestions will be, and the assistant flags items where cost data looks missing or out of date.

2

It analyzes margin and demand

Using your sales history and cost inputs, it calculates each item's contribution margin and popularity, then maps them into menu-engineering categories so you can see what earns and what drags.

3

You get suggested mixes

The assistant proposes things to try: items to feature, candidates to reprice or rework, and menu mixes that may be more profitable for a given day or weekend, with the reasoning shown.

4

You approve and apply

You decide what to act on. Apply a suggestion to your menu when it makes sense for your kitchen, your guests and your brand. The assistant advises; the call stays yours.

Questions & answers

Is Menu Profitability available now?+

Not yet. It's in early access and still being built. You can join the waitlist to try it early and help shape it. We'll be honest about what works and what's still coming as we roll it out.

How does it decide which items are profitable?+

It combines two things you already track in RestApp: contribution margin (selling price minus item cost) and popularity (how often an item sells). It groups items by these, so you can see high-margin favorites alongside quiet earners and low-margin volume drivers.

Will it change my menu or prices automatically?+

No. The assistant suggests. It drafts featured items, reprice candidates and menu mixes, and you approve what to apply. It won't make autonomous changes to your menu or pricing. The decision is always yours.

What does it need from me to be accurate?+

Accurate cost inputs. The assistant can only estimate margins from the recipe and ingredient costs you enter, so its suggestions are only as reliable as that data. It flags items with missing or stale costs rather than guess, and we won't claim a precision figure we can't back up. Your data stays yours and isn't used to train models shared with other restaurants.
